Diversity Hiring and Recruiting Resources

A powerful trend in modern recruiting revolves around diversity recruiting and hiring. As companies – and more specifically, their HR departments – realize that a diverse workforce is a better workforce, a great deal of emphasis has been placed on reaching out to a diverse group of minority candidates to fill open employment positions.

Following that trend, a number of job boards have evolved to provide diversity hiring resources for HR managers and employers and to assist government contractors in meeting their OFCCP job posting requirements. Locate Jobs Network, a growing network of niche job boards, is one of these, and has a Diversity Hiring channel to aid in diversity recruiting initiatives.

These diversity job boards are varied, with some focusing on general minority and diversity hiring and others catering specific to various under-represented minority groups. The network’s unique cross-posting functionality ensures that all employers, recruiters and agencies posting jobs to any network site can also target any or all of these diversity job boards, and there is no additional cost to do so. By providing this service, Locate Jobs Network allows recruiters to focus on the primary industry they are targeting with the network’s niche job boards, all the while adding each job posting to a variety of diversity-targeted boards to ensure maximum exposure to a diverse set of potential candidates.

Diversity hiring is always a point that organizations have to consider. However, I believe that companies should always hire the best employee available.

I agree completely Michelle – and I think that is truly the intent of recruiters who are engaging specifically in diversity recruiting efforts. Those efforts are marked by ensuring exposure of open employment positions to minority/diversity candidates – what happens during the interviewing and hiring process should be quite simple, i.e. – the best candidate will be hired.

Yes I agree Matt. Minorities should be given every opportunity to succeed when given the chance though.
