Today is “National Boss Day” and, apparently, Hallmark has 89 different Boss Day cards to choose from…of course, it would help if anyone actually knew that it was Boss Day. Apparently, Hallmark did a better job marketing Valentine’s Day than it has Boss Day, or maybe it’s just that Love as a holiday concept is more interesting to us than our boss. And here’s an alternate take on the holiday:

“I saw that [in the paper] - it cracked me up,” said restaurateur Steve DiFillipo, owner and operator of Davio’s in Boston and Philadelphia, and Avila in Boston.

“I’m a Springsteen fan, and I thought they were honoring Bruce Springsteen,” said DiFillipo. “I just hope everyone shows up tomorrow at work. I don’t need a card. I don’t need boss day. I’d rather have Bruce Springsteen day.”
