The answer is that they are still out there, but they are fading fast. The most recent player to drop out of the free job postings game is The Ladders, which I just mentioned last week. Joel Cheesman is speculating that they are likely to open their formerly free job postings up to clients for somewhere in the neighborhood of Monster’s fees, or right around $75 per post. To anyone who’s ever tried to run a truly free job board, this is understandable. Making money from free job postings is a pretty difficult thing to do.

Fortunately, my favorite free job board is doing quite well and she’s growing steadily.
