Career Advice: Measure Twice, Cut Once
I had heard this little bit of wisdom many times before, but I was reminded of it today as I read through the latest post at the Blog at SlowDownNow.org. The post is entitled Slow is Not Lazy and is a good example of the type of life and career insights offered at SlowDownNow.org. The blog points out, correctly, that there are many acts in life and in our careers that are performed better when we take the time to slow down and execute with precision.
Our daily lives are often a race against time. We’re always rushing from one task to the next, painfully aware that we’ll never get it all finished in time. It doesn’t have to be that way. Most of the things that we fret about on a daily basis are tasks that we’ve created for ourselves and that we make more difficult by the very nature of our lifestyles.
Time is a precious commodity and should be spent wisely. If we take our time, we often find that things come a little easier, that our decisions produce better results and that tasks actually get accomplished.
